Advocacy is not merely a profession; it is a noble calling that sustains the very foundation of our justice system. It is with this profound respect for the legal profession that Priyadarshini Dnyan Prabodhini Sanstha envisioned a centre of excellence for legal education in Phaltan. In 1991, under the enlightened guidance of the late Barrister Raja S. Bhonsale—Senior Advocate of the Supreme Court of India, former Advocate General of Maharashtra, and former Judge of the Bombay High Court—the college was founded with a single purpose: to uplift legal education in our region and to nurture future custodians of justice.
Today, our institution stands proudly affiliated with Shivaji University, Kolhapur, and approved by the Bar Council of India, the Bar Council of Maharashtra & Goa, and the Government of Maharashtra. Since 1 April 1995 we have been receiving government grant-in-aid, and in September 2004 the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) accredited us with a ‘B’ Grade, a testament to our unwavering commitment to quality education.
Our campus, spread over one acre and two gunthas in the heart of Phaltan (Girvi Naka, behind the Central City Building), provides a vibrant learning environment. We offer both the Three-Year LL.B. and the Five-Year Integrated Law programmes, designed to develop analytical thinking, ethical practice, and a deep understanding of the law.
As President, I am humbled by the dedication of our faculty, the enthusiasm of our students, and the steadfast support of our alumni and partners. Together, let us continue to ride the twin wheels of bench and bar, steering our nation toward a more just and equitable future.
Shri Nitin Rameshchandra Bhonsale
President, Priyadarshini Dnyan Prabodhini Trust.
